As part of my day job, I get the Wealth Management Newsletter. An excerpt from today's email gave me a chuckle:
"Last year, Americans gave $295 billion directly to charitable causes, according to Glenview, Ill.-based Giving USA's Annual Report on Philanthropy."
Well, as readers of Foglifting already know, Americas gave over $1.5 TRILLION to the U.S. Government last year for charity. That's just Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security. Social Security is certainly a charity. We working people are giving to the older members of society to relieve the burden from their families and their savings.
Aren't we generous!
