Little John: You know somethin', Robin. I was just wonderin', are we good guys or bad guys? You know, I mean, uh? Our robbin' the rich to feed the poor.
Robin Hood: Rob? Tsk tsk tsk. That's a naughty word. We never rob. We just sort of borrow a bit from those who can afford it.
Little John: Borrow? Boy, are we in debt.
Nancy Pelosi said recently that the repeal of the Estate tax was "Robin Hood in reverse." So, we can take it that she believes robbing the rich is okay, but not the poor... Interesting concept.
The Robin Hood character is quite a hero to the big-government supporters. Isn't that backwards? The big draw is the belief that if Robin Hood robs you, you must be evil. Robin Hood only robs the rich.
Let's examine that. RH doesn't distinguish between robbing from bad people and noble people. They just have to be rich. Well, Osama Bin Laden is rich. He inherited that money from oil and uses it to oppress people. Warren Buffett and Bill Gates are also rich. They have earned their wealth with intelligent use of God's gifts, stealing from no one. In fact, they have enabled many people to live much richer lives through the use of software and retirement plans.
Trust me. In Pelosi's world, all rich people are evil and that money must be taken from them and given to the poor (of course, with a sizable cut going to the House).
Robin Hood doesn't ask for a bio before taking what doesn't belong to him. By the way, he also doesn't ask the "poor" if they are going to use it to educate their children or use the money to support their drug habit, either. What a nice guy!
